Where has the past year gone?? It’s crazy to think that it’s already time for those holiday get -togethers! If you are frantic trying to find the perfect outfit, don’t worry-we have you covered! Whether it’s a formal office party or your best friend’s dinner party, check out our holiday go-to outfits.

Every holiday season, we at Sage collect toys to take to the Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta to help bring a smile to a child’s face. Last year we collected over 230 toys!! At Children’s, their goal is to ‘enhance the lives of children through excellence in patient care, research and education’. Whether they are treating an injured toddler or supporting a teen through a series of chemotherapy treatments, they take their commitment to care for each and every child very seriously. The toys that we deliver are taken to a special section of the Children’s hospital-The Zone. In The Zone, children, teenagers and their families can relax, watch a movie or play video games. It was created to help these children, teenagers and their families forget-at least for a little while-they are at a hospital. This year, we will be collecting unwrapped toys from November 18-December 18 and the toys will be delivered to the Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta on December 20th. Toys can be donated at our Buckhead and Forsyth locations. Happy Holidays from Sage!!

Festival Ready!

I Love Lucy

As soon as I opened this week's Tulle shipment and saw the blue and white polka dots I went CRAZY! Flashbacks from my all-time favorite TV show, "I Love Lucy," instantly popped in my head and I knew I had to pay tribute to the fashion icon, Lucille Ball. Hey there all you fashionistas! I wanted to take a moment and introduce myself to all of YOU, our fabulous followers! My name is Katy Kelly and I am the Director of Marketing for Sage.

I moved to Atlanta in February of 2010 and began working for Sage in July of 2010...my absolute passion is fashion! I graduated with a degree in Apparel and Textile Design with a concentration in Marketing in December of 2007, from the University of Alabama (Roll Tide...I am a southern girl at heart) and have been a part of this fabulous industry, since before graduating. I worked in retail through college, as a buyer for a woman's catalog, for showrooms at the Apparel mart, and on the business side involving myself from marketing to proofing and editing, to photography--I have been involved in every aspect of this industry, and in return at Sage, I am able to bring you the BEST of the BEST that fashion has to offer!

In lieu of the 1970’s making its come back this spring, we are seeing a change in the “what’s HAWT” for silhouettes. Higher waists and hems sweeping the floor will be the things to look for!

Keeping an Equal Balance

Keeping an equal balance in most aspects of our lives is extremely important, and it is no different for fashion. So many trends can become overwhelming so the main rule is; don’t over do it! Mixing too many trends in one outfit could be fashion suicide, so here are a few little tips on how to balance out the latest silhouette trends:

What NOT to do: (kidding! We know our Sagettes wouldn’t do this)

*Leather jackets: Something fun and flirty works best with the leather jacket because it’s a great contrast of soft and hard. The print and silk material of the dress doesn’t compete with the dark leather. Add a clutch and some heeled booties and you’re good to go

*Leggings: Keep a balance of fitted and loose when trying out the legging trend. Pair with longer tops that fall below your rear to provide enough coverage so you will feel comfortable. Add a layer with an oversized or chunky sweater to equal out the silhouette (if you opt for a chunky sweater for layering, keep unbuttoned if possible so you don’t get swallowed up by the fabric).

*Oversized tops: Similar rule to the leggings…you will want to keep an equal balance of fitted and loose. Let the flowy tops hang over skinny jeans or leggings, or tuck into a fitted skirt.

*Wide-leg pants: Let the pants be the star of the show and down-play the rest of your outfit. A Fitted top tucked in and layered with a thin cardigan is your best bet. Add a platform heel to lengthen and show off the silhouette.

First and foremost, we would like to thank everyone who participated and supported our “Fashion with Passion” event that was held on September 30, 2010. This event helps support the Susan G. Komen for the Cure organization and kicks off Breast Cancer Awareness month at Sage. Attendees were able to enjoy a fall fashion show completed with the unveiling of this year’s breast cancer awareness tee.

Our guests enjoyed a live DJ, food from Shula’s 347 Grill, and martinis from VanGogh, as well as “paparazzi” from Atlanta and Jezebel Magazines, while they shopped and helped us at Sage give a percentage of our sales to the Susan G. Komen.

Retailers saw a surge of new shoppers and increased sales, while customers relished the street-party atmosphere.”

Fashion’s Night Out was celebrated last friday and it was just what Atlanta needed! Here at Sage, we were ecstatic to be a part of this world wide fashion glamourosity! We loved having our wonderful Sagettes come and hang out with our Buckhead gals and sip some wine while they checked out the Tulle trunk show and new arrivals for the week.
