How to Transition Winter to Spring

Spring is slowly but surely creeping up on us. Pretty soon it will be time to pull out our spring dresses, white linen pants and bright colored wedges. Here we have picked a few of our favorite winter to spring transitional pieces.

Winter to Spring LBD
A basic little black dress is a staple in every fashionistas wardrobe. A sleeveless LBD is perfect to wear any time of year. Layer with a faux fur jacket, tights and wedges for a cold winter night then lighten it up in the spring with bright colored wedges and a white blazer.

Emerald green (THE color of the year) is universally flattering and goes with everything!! Here we have it paired with a basic black pencil skirt and blazer for a winter day at the office. Layer on textured tights and a warm trench coat. For Spring, take advantage of the pop of color and wear over white jeans with printed wedges and a bright straw tote bag. No matter what, you cannot go wrong with this color. ;)

A denim jacket is the perfect wear-anytime piece. For winter, we love a denim jacket layered with aztec print leggings, a cozy sweater, brown flat boots and a fringe cross-body handbag.  Throw on a scarf and beanie for added warmth. Come springtime, wear your denim jacket with cut off denim shorts, a bright colored tank, stacked gold jewels and a fun straw fedora and you are spring break ready! :)

Be sure to check sageclothing.com weekly to shop our new Spring arrivals as well as our sale section with tons of transitional pieces under $50!!

2013 Golden Globes Best Dressed

Awards season is here which means a battle over the best and worst dressed on the red carpet. There was a fashion frenzy at the Golden Globes last night in Beverly Hills and we couldn't have been more excited. There were too many fabulous dresses to pick just one best dressed, so here are our top picks of the evening.

Jennifer Lopez looked flawless in a body baring, long sleeve lace Zuhair Murad gown. Her makeup was kept simple and her side part seemed to be the hair trend of the evening.

Sofia Vergara dazzled in this amazing black beaded strapless gown. What was more impressive? The more than 100 carats (or $8 million!!!) worth of Lorraine Schwartz diamonds she was rocking.

Heidi Klum was stunning in this white and gold Alexander Vauthier gown. The super high slit showed off her super model legs and the gold Christian Louboutin shoes complimented the gold embellishment and Lorraine Schwartz jewels.

Nicole Richie rocked this amazing blue lace and beaded Naeem Khan long-sleeve gown with matching blue eye shadow. In true Nicole Richie fashion she accessorized with a black snake print and silver tassel House of Harlow clutch (obsessed!).

Kerry Washington looked angelic in this cream Miu Miu dress. We love the feather like silver embroidery and nude accessories. Expect to see lots of cream/nude and sheer fabrics this season.

Julianne Hough looked amazing in her princess inspired gold embroidered Monique Lhuillier gown.

Hollywood's golden girl, Jessica Alba, stepped out of the box in this melon colored silk Oscar de la Renta gown with a feather Roger Vivier clutch. Her Harry Winston necklace was breathtaking and complimented the strapless style of the dress.

Kate Hudson was flawless (as usual) in this form fitting black and gold Alexander McQueen keyhole gown.

Lea Michele was on point in this cream Elie Saab gown. It was all about trends for Lea with the cream colored dress, high slit, and side parted hair.

Naomi Watts' long-sleeved, backless gown by Zac Posen was covered up but sexy and completely on trend with the long sleeves and berry color.

Julianne Moore looked elegant in this simple black and white long-sleeve Tom Ford gown. Black and white was a big trend on the red carpet and at the after party. (LOVED Jessica Alba's black and white checkered after party dress!)

Jennifer Garner was glowing in this gorgeous cranberry red sequin gown from Vivienne Westwood.

For the biggest night of the year, sequins are a must! Whether you have a dress covered in sequins or top off your outfit with a sequin jacket, you can't go wrong either way.

This all over sequin jacket takes a simple outfit to a WOW outfit. Wear over a sexy dress for a fabulous occasion or dress up a simple t-shirt and jeans. (Sequin jacket, $128)

Add a pop of color to this all over sequin skirt for a fun night on the town. For added glamour, try textured tights or throw on the sequin blazer for more sparkle. (Sequin skirt, $46.99. Beaded chiffon top, $78. Purple chiffon top, $72.)

This is our best-selling throw on and go New Years eve dress! Add some sparkly bangles and stud earrings and you are set. (Black dress, $88. Lavender dress, $88. Teal dress, $88.)

This beaded top and sequin skirt are a similar yet different take on the dresses above. The top looks great paired with with a gold or black sequin mini. This ensemble will be an overall hit at any party. (Beaded top, $88.)

Going for a more casual look? This look is for you! The sequined top and beaded top can easily dress up a pair of denim. Speaking of denim, throw these sparkly tops on with a pair of Miss Me jeans or !iT coated skinny's and you will be sure to turn heads. Top off this look with a pair of sky high heels and you are ready to party! (Sequined top, $88. Beaded top, $78.)

Top 5 Holiday Movies & Quotes

You know those big, comfy sweaters that are so trendy right now? Well, what's more perfect during the holidays than cozying up in one while watching one of your favorite Christmas movies? Here's a list of our Top 5 Christmas movies here at Sage and our favorite quote from each of the movies:

1. Elf - If you don't like Elf, you must be the Grinch. Elf can make anyone, anywhere, in any spirit (whether you celebrate Christmas or not), LOL.

"First we'll make snow angels for two hours, then we'll go ice skating, then we'll eat a whole roll of Tollhouse Cookie-dough as fast as we can, and then we'll snuggle."
-Buddy the Elf

2. Miracle on 34th StreetWhenever you need a reminder of the true spirit of Christmas, this movie is a go-to. It's a fantastic family-favorite.

"Oh, Christmas isn't just a day, it's a frame of mind... and that's what's been changing. That's why I'm glad I'm here, maybe I can do something about it." -Kris Kringle

3. Love, Actually - We might not admit it, but we all love a feel-good romantic comedy. Love, Actually will make you laugh, it'll make you cry, and it'll get you right into the Christmas spirit. Plus, Hugh Grant is in it - enough said.

"I feel it in my fingers, I feel it in my toes, Christmas is all around me, and so the feeling grows..." -Love, Actually Soundtrack

4. A Christmas StorySaying that this movie is a classic is an understatement. Kids and adults alike, if they have seen this movie, all have a special place in their hearts for little Ralphie.

Quote: "Some men are Baptists, others Catholics; my father was an Oldsmobile man." - Ralphie

5. A Charlie Brown Christmas - This is for those who are kids, have kids, or are still a kid at heart. Morning, afternoon, or night, this cartoon movie will lift your holiday spirits.

"Wake up! Santa Clause came last night, and he didn't leave you anything!....APRIL FOOLS!" -Sally

Pop one of these movies in and you're sure to enjoy!!
HAPPY HOLIDAYS from your friends at Sage!!
