Back to School ↠ Fall Must Haves

Whether you are headed back to school for another semester of college or just ready to start with fresh fall wardrobe essentials, check out our must-have list for this fall

1. New Basics
[tee's, tanks and bralettes]

Treat yourself to some new basics because these are things we end up wearing the most! Great for layering or completing an outfit.

2. Denim
[embroidered, frayed hem, step hem, exposed buttons, distressed]

Jeans will always be apart of your fall staples. Be sure to review which denim you wore the most last fall and decide if they need replacing. Denim trends come and go so pick something trendy but wearable for this season.

3. Mini Skirts
[vegan leather, lace up suede, denim]

Mini skirts are a great transitional item because you can wear them while it is still hot, but also easily take these into the colder months with chunky sweaters, cardigans, and tall boots.

4. Graphics & Prints
[graphic t-shirt, printed tops, bottoms]

Have a few stand-out tops or bottoms to mix and match outfits. When all else fails, a graphic tee paired with a skirt or jeans is always nice to lean on. Printed tops or bottoms also add a nice pop in your everyday style.

5. Jackets, Cardi's, and Kimono's
[chunky knit cardigan, floral kimono, light open jacket]

Make sure you have a few go-to layering pieces such as these for when we go through the seasonal awkward phase of not knowing how to transition with the unpredictable weather. It never hurts to have a floral kimono to dress up or down too.

6. Fun Pieces
[casual jumpsuit, jogger pants, long-sleeve romper]

Never forget to shop around for a few fun pieces to spice up any wardrobe rut you may find yourself in. These fun pieces are great for events, dinners, or just going out.

7. Dressy Dress
[LBD, silky slip dress, tunic dress, cocktail dress]

Do yourself a favor and grab that pretty dress while you see it now! It's great to have a dressy dress or two for any event or date that may come up. If you are in a sorority, or a working girl, you may need to dress up for a particular occasion so already having this attire helps when you're in a pinch.

8. Accessories
[belts, clutch, jewelry, scarves]

Fall is the ultimate season for layering. Whether you're heading to class and need an oversized scarf or just trying to complete your look, having a few essential accessories will always do the trick.

9. Shoes
[espadrille sneakers, suede bootie, clog, mule]

Invest in two nice pairs of shoes that work for you. Be sure to know what you're day to day schedule will be like so you know which styles to shop for. A neutral ankle boot is always a good option because they go with everything from dresses to skinny's.

For those that do not know the history of Sage, we would like to highlight our wonderful girl-boss who is the owner behind our boutique. Owner and founder, Shannon Kitchens, along with her husband James, run the show here at Sage!

It all started with a young, driven, blonde who opened up her first store in 1997. She still remains the one doing everything behind the scenes. We offer a select choice of clothing, shoes, handbags, accessories, and jewelry all for an exceptional value and quality! We're amazed at how hard Shannon works to uphold these standards 20 years later.

We believe that there is beauty in giving back.

On any given day, you can find Shannon giving back to the community through donations and fundraisers, supporting some of our favorite organizations like Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta, Bert’s Big Adventure and many local schools and charities.

On top of that, our fab boss is always taking care of her team as well. We are constantly inspired and grateful for all she does!

We have a location at Avalon in Alpharetta, GA

5 Spring Events & What to Wear to Them

Spring in around the corner;
don't be caught unprepared for these top five events & happenings you'll most likely partake in.

1. Showers, Luncheons & Weddings

It will be inevitable that you'll have something on your calendar related to one of these events. This also includes attending graduations, ceremonies, and anything you will want to step up your classy-dressy-attire. Think prints, tasteful dresses & rompers, a simple jumpsuit, or even a skirt paired with the right blouse.

2. Music Festival

Festival attire speaks for itself and has become its own category in the fashion world. To attain the look, start shopping for your favorite fit of denim cut-offs, draping fabrics, kimonos, crochet & lace, prints, crop tops, sets, band tee's and then mostly accessories to pull it all together.

3. Sporting Event

If you live in Atlanta, it's almost that time for Braves baseball. But either way, chances are you'll be attending a sporting event this Spring. Think comfortable but stylish. Don't go too overboard (no college football game-day dresses), but cute t-shirts, tanks, a great pair of distressed skinny's, bralettes for layering, and maybe even a casual t-shirt dress.

4. Hot Date

Another activity that speaks for itself. You don't want to be caught on the night of a date with nothing to wear. Every girl wants to achieve an effortless, yet, sexy look for a date, no matter if you're going to swing a golf-club at Top Golf, or if you're going to the W for cocktails. Be ready, start acquiring items that constitute for the LBD. Little black dresses, rompers, jumpsuits all work. Mix in some prints, keep the fabrics silky and sexy. You can always dress something down if needed.

5. Girls Funday a.k.a. Brunching or any other Day Events

This is the anything-goes category. If you're anything like us, a "funday" out with the girls could mean yoga pants and a tank, Adidas sneakers, or your favorite romper, overalls, or sundress. You choose. Always have a few fun pieces you can pull together whether you want to look super cute for mimosa's at brunch, or if you want to be comfy-cute to stroll around the city.
