Autumn 2016 Fashion Forecast

Hey, hey, hey, Sage Babes. Now, we know summer is far from over, but we have exciting news: every female’s favorite season is just around the corner. You know the one. Think colorful leaves, lattes of the pumpkin spice persuasion, the best weather of the entire calendar year, and more importantly, NEW CLOTHES.

This autumn is shaping up to be nothing short of incredible for fashion. We took a look at the runways from this past spring’s Fashion Weeks to find out what you should be looking for when shopping for your fall wardrobe. These trends will turn ordinary hallways into runways if you play your credit cards right.

SHOW ME THE SHOULDER

One of our favorite summer 2016 trends was off-the-shoulder EVERYTHING and you guys cleaned us out of it. Well, you’re in luck. Showin’ some shoulder will also serve you well this fall. We foresee 3/4 -length and long sleeve off-the-shoulder tops, rompers, and dresses to be flooding the stores and the streets very soon.

TIME WARP

As the old saying goes, history repeats itself, especially in fashion. At fashion week, the princess and the punk were in the limelight.

Gucci

Simone Rocha

Gucci

Designers took inspiration from the renaissance era to add a romance to their collections that Romeo and Juliet would be envious of. Be on the hunt for empire waists, ruffles, pirate sleeves, and high necklines that will make you feel like nothing less than royalty

Alexander McQueen

Just Cavalli

Yves Saint Laurent

We saw the 70s babes of rock n roll become our summer style inspiration, but this fall it’s all about the punk ladies of the 80s. Put on a leather jacket, some platforms, and some contrasting elements like lace or animal print to get that Material Girl look.

WERKING WOMEN

2016 is a big year for female empowerment. I mean, did you listen to Beyonce’s new record? Okay, ladies now let’s get in formation, because women are rocking menswear even better than men. Tailoring and trenchcoats galore. Add a statement jacket or blazer over a simple undershirt, paired with grey or black pants and a pointed toe boot for a look that will get you hired at a job you didn’t even apply for.

Ralph Lauren

Isabel Marant

Jason Wu

SO FLUFFY I WANNA DIE

Furs, fleece, AND puffy jackets?  Sounds like heaven to us, especially when the temperatures start to drop. Comfortable yet fashionable is the name of the game this fall for sure. Maybe it’s time to start searching the nearest Goodwill for that puffy jacket you thought you didn’t want after middle school?
